Background

Triple Ring's core strengths in applied science and technology development are valuable assets during the earliest phases of a product development program. Our team can start with an ill-defined technical problem, brainstorm approaches, and provide unbiased recommendations for alternative courses of action, often devising innovative simple solutions to complex problems.

We provide detailed feasibility analysis, experimental design, product requirements definition, systems architecture, and algorithm development as needed to address customer requirements. Triple Ring’s engineering laboratories and staff provide the necessary infrastructure for rapid realization of proof-of-concept demonstrations and advanced engineering prototypes.

“Triple Ring has been invaluable in helping us to refine our concepts, develop early prototypes, and focus our initial product development efforts. As a result, we can now dedicate our efforts on supporting our first customers.”

X-ray Systems

Triple Ring has deep domain expertise with development of X-ray systems, sources, and detectors for both medical and industrial applications. Our approach combines an experienced team of physicists, engineers, and materials scientists with dedicated infrastructure such as extensive vacuum equipment and lead-lined rooms for system development and testing. We have developed fluoroscopy, computed tomography (fan and cone-beam designs), and tomosynthesis systems for medical, dental, security screening, and industrial inspection applications with a focus on lowering X-ray dose exposure for patients.

Biomedical Optics and Imaging

Triple Ring is helping companies solve key medical diagnosis and treatment problems with an array of modalities including optics, ultrasound, photoacoustics, and MRI. Our team of physicists and optical engineers synthesize information and advances across fields to deliver up-to-the-minute, best-in-class solutions. We retire technical risk early with modeling, simulations, and feasibility prototypes built within our dedicated optics laboratory.

Representative projects include an OCT system for subdermal imaging, a novel spectrometer for noninvasive analyte quantification, fluorescence imaging for sentinel lymph node detection, a time-domain NIRS system for cerebral oximetry, and photoacoustic modeling for an ophthalmic application. Our solutions for image processing and reconstruction challenges enable real-time or post-processed imaging for an array of diagnostic or surgical purposes.

Drug/Device Combinations

Triple Ring’s team has extensive experience with drug/device combination products spanning ideation through large-scale manufacturing. Our drug-delivery domain expertise includes minimally-invasive delivery methods such as needle-free injectors; infusion pump drug delivery systems; and pulmonary delivery via DPI’s, nebulizers, pMDI’s, and critical care systems for breath-coordinated delivery of systemic and topical therapeutics.

Signal Processing

Triple Ring has designed a family of customizable data acquisition and image analysis modules that are available on an OEM basis or as part of an integrated system development project. These products can enable computationally-intensive applications such as real-time image processing and network security with cost- and power-efficient hardware. Triple Ring is also a certified third-party applications developer for Nethra, Inc. products, including the Am2000 line of massively parallel processor arrays (MPPAs).
