Product Development: Nova Ray Medical, Incorporated developed a novel x-ray imaging technology needed to evolve their prototypes through full product development. The challenge lay in the high degree of technical innovation and broad interdisciplinary skills required. Triple Ring was engaged take on all aspects of the product development, allowing the company to focus on commercialization activities.
Modeling and Analysis: An emerging medical device company was at the crossroads. They developed a novel technology for cancer therapy, but despite efforts to solve technical problems the manufacturing yield was low.," Unfortunately, this was a multivariate problem and we didn't know whether we ever were testing the right variable," according to the company CEO.
Ideation: A startup medical device company needed to define an approach for in vivo measurement of wall thickness for a flexible lumen. Potential options included mechanical, optical, ultrasound, and x-ray techniques. An objective evaluation of technical and IP barriers to implementation in a timely and cost-effective matter was required for final recommendation.
Prototype Engineering: A startup company with a novel actuator technology secured customers for small, low pressure, self priming diaphragm pump, but lacked a proprietary design that met specifications. Customers expected delivery of the prototypes within three months. Triple Ring was tasked with creating a new pump design from scratch, fabricate samples and verify performance – all within 10 weeks.
Technical Consulting: A large medical device company reduced its engineering staff through restructuring. Ongoing efforts as sustaining engineering for existing products, advanced technology development, and product design began to suffer from a lack of depth and breadth in the remaining engineering group. Triple Ring was engaged provide ongoing oversight of the engineering activities and take on engineering challenges outside the skill set of the internal company team.
